About the Ministry
Who we are
One Ministry for the people, their councils and their heritage
The Ministry for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs is responsible for the administration and supervision of the 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State, the coordination of community development programmes, and the preservation and regulation of chieftaincy institutions across the State.
Our work touches everyday life: how local councils serve their people, how communities grow, and how the traditional institutions that anchor our history are recognised, graded and kept on public record.
